The Residential Logbook Association is the DLUCH supported trade body for companies providing digital logbooks for the residential property market. Our members are providers of logbook systems and services and we work closely with all organisations in residential property market who require access to validated property data.


1. Purpose & Objectives

The Residential Logbook Association (RLBA) exists to encourage the provision and use of Residential Property Logbooks, with the aim that every property in the UK should have a logbook registered with the RLBA. 


Our aim is to create and maintain an open and competitive market for Logbooks, and to provide a system for self-regulation that supports our interaction with every aspect of the property industry.

2. Member Obligations

The RLBA recognises there are significant institutional, regulatory and behavioural hurdles to overcome as we establish a market for Property Logbooks.

 

Members are asked to recognise the principle that, while we are all competitive companies, working together can help create the market conditions for all Members to succeed.

3. RLBA Management

The RLBA is run by its members on a voluntary basis.  As is standard with industry associations, The Residential Logbook Association Ltd is set up as a ‘private company limited by guarantee without share capital’.

4. Membership Options & Fees

4.1 RLBA Membership is annual and is to be renewed every January. 


4.2 There are 3 types of membership: Logbook members and Associate members.


4.2.1  Logbook Members are companies that offer a logbook product with the right to have them listed on the RLBA Register* and to use the RLBA API Hub to connect to partner systems. Logbook members are expected to link to the Register to validate new accounts.


4.2.2  Associate Members are companies who distribute or sell the Property Logbooks of a Logbook Member company.  Associate Members have the right to connect to the RLBA Register to validate addresses and to list Logbooks on the RLBA Register. 


4.2.3  Stakeholder Members - a free membership specifically offered to other organisations working within the property area who offer the RLBA reciprocal membership. 


4.3 Logbook Members and Associate Member companies are eligible to list Logbooks on the RLBA Register of Logbooks as long as they can be shown to comply with the content and functionality requirements listed in the RLBA technical specification. 


4.4 All members must identify an individual as their Primary Representative, though others within the organisation can attend RLBA meetings. 


4.5 All RLBA members to supply a copy of their logo for use on the RLBA website and members lists where required.  Members can use the RLBA log on their own website solely for the purpose of confirming they are a member of the RLBA. 


4.6 From 2024 the Logbook Membership fee will be set at £5,500 per annum.


4.7 From 2024 the Associate Membership fee will be set at £500 per annum.
